Dead people. Roaming ghost. A scared lady and a new found reluctant hideout.
Last Week I just finished watching one wonderful Korean Drama. It's about two people who are being haunted by ghost. One with the real ghosts, as in literally the souls of the dead people; and the other one the of ghost of his past.

| my favorite ghost in this drama...the ghost who likes coffee.. |
The Master's Sun is another work from the Hong sisters. Same writer of My Girl, My girlfriend is a Gumiho, The Greatest Love (Dogon dogon), and the very cute He's Beautiful, of which are my personal favorites also. This time in this drama their heroin is a girl who has the ability to see dead people. She is hounded by this restless souls day and night that she never lost her big eye-bags. After waking up from three years of being comatose, she never had a proper rest because ghosts always follow her around. She was put into hospitals (for physical and mental sickness) and had slept in a prison cell a lot of times that she already lost count. She was mistaken for being crazy as people see her talking to no one...
We could say that the start of the story line is a little silly (unless you are a sucker of ghost stories). But then again just like the other works of the Hong sisters they will kill your emotions and get you hooked with the background stories of their characters. While watching it I feel the struggle of Taeyang (the leading character) to live normally in her abnormal world and her desperation to look for a little peace (and a little sleep). When she knew Joo Jong-won and when she discovered that ghosts will disappear every time she touch him or the other way around, she clung to him real tight. And upon knowing that Taeyang can see ghosts, he also used her to talk to her dead girlfriend to ask where the 10 billion worth of necklace that his family owned went to.
They were actually using each other.. but in every mystery they solved and the ghosts problem (yes they actually have problems) they became closer and became more involved with each others world. The world she hated and one that he accepts and tried to understand. The drama was never absent of hilarious and cute scenes that you will not stop smiling and laughing in every episodes, although some of the stories of the ghosts the dilemma of the characters are also heart wrenching. Oh but it was so cool when the ex of Joo Jong-won (of whom played a big part in the story) possessed Taeyang.. I really liked how she throw the line "I'm your bad bitch"..goosebumps....It was really funny every time she got drunk and be possessed by different spirits (even dogs). The seductress Frenchwoman is really something (just watch to know). And oh oh it's really cute when Joo Jon-won said he thinks he is in love with Taeyang and she should take responsibility of it (kkyah!~ neo-mu kwi-yeop-da!!!!...)
I really like the supporting characters also, like the older sister of Taeyang, the way she supported her and even sacrifice her future for the sake of Taeyang (but she also had a nice ending with the security guy). Kang Woo who fought his fears to protect Taeyang, even Kim Yoo-ri's character is lovable (the way she call Kang Woo as salary man is even cute)..
I would really recommend this drama..it may sound serious the way I describe it but it is a light happy ending drama. Every character has closure and the twist with the dead ex-girlfriend is really a surprise...... Hong Sisters, So Ji Sub, and Gong Hyo-jin really did a great job..Thumbs up!!!
"The woman I love is the sun who is risen up there. Isn’t it incredible? She doesn’t just shine only to dead people like you. I’m seriously blinded by her brightness". Joo Jong-won
